THE STORY BEHIND THE HOME
How it all began.
A lifelong connection to the lake, and a shared vision for a distinctive lakefront home.

A lifelong connection
The owner’s connection to Apple Valley Lake began in childhood in the late 1970s. Years spent on the water made its shoreline familiar, and the Lakeview Court setting offered something especially meaningful: views reaching north and south across the lake he had grown up loving.
Building here was a chance to carry that connection forward, creating a place where his children, their friends and his grandchildren could make lake memories of their own.
A remarkable first meeting
An introduction through longtime local friends brought the owner and builder together. The owner arrived on his Harley with photographs of several Apple Valley lakefront homes he admired. As the builder looked through them, they discovered an unexpected connection: he had built every one.
The builder proposed something more personal, a modern home shaped around the owner’s personality and the way he wanted to live. Through successive drawings, the vision developed. Creative freedom, mutual trust and a shared love of rock and roll helped turn the building project into a friendship.
The vision takes shape
Steel and glass became the architectural language, supported by specialized trades and structural solutions. Custom cabinetry and carefully selected appliances brought that attention to detail into daily life.
The priorities were a kitchen made for cooking, an exceptional owner’s suite and generous outdoor spaces to enjoy the lake. A bridge between the great room and the owner’s wing became one of the builder’s favorite details, balancing a memorable passage with a quieter place to retreat when guests filled the house.
The lakeside firepit became a favorite gathering place, while waterskiing through the morning fog remained one of the owner’s simplest pleasures. Beyond the architecture, the home’s story is about friendship, family and the opportunity for another generation to make the lake part of its life.
